Welcome to New Legacy Cultural Center

As a key facilitator for Mandarin learners, NLCC works closely with Lexington Public Schools (LPS) to enhance language learning through cultural immersion. This includes hosting events such as the Mandarin Glow Year-End Party, the LPS Chinese Instrument Tour, and Lunar New Year celebrations at various elementary schools.

The New Legacy Cultural Center (NLCC) is an educational and cultural nonprofit organization established in 2018 with a mission to connect cultures and foster community. NLCC achieves this mission through a variety of programs, including language and cultural classes, engaging workshops, and signature events such as the Lantern Festival and historical costume shows.

Our Mission & Vision

NLCC also collaborates with Lexington Community Education (LCE) to offer after-school Mandarin classes at LPS elementary campuses and organizes bi-lingual Summer camps through Lexplorations.

The center's partnership with LexMedia has led to the production of a cooking show highlighting Chinese culinary traditions, as well as a Confucian Study Series, which explores timeless philosophy. NLCC hosts weekly Go club meetups and partners with the Massachusetts Go Association to organize an annual Regional Youth Go Tournament, offering a welcoming space for enthusiasts of this ancient strategy game to learn, play, and connect.

To further promote Mandarin learning, NLCC has established a Performance Club which encourages participants to practice Mandarin through creative expressions such as singing, dancing, poetry recitation, and theatrical performances. By integrating Mandarin language use into engaging and fun activities, the Performance Club provides an immersive and interactive way for learners to improve their language skills.
